Privacy Policy

Updated

This policy explains how ReferMe (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information when you visit referme.link or send us feedback. It covers this website. Providers you visit through our referral links have their own privacy policies.

For privacy questions or requests, contact ReferMe through our feedback form and mention “Privacy” in your message.

Information we handle

  • Site visits and referral activity. Analytics can collect page addresses, referring sites, browser and device information, approximate location, and interactions with the site. We record which offer page was viewed, which referral link was clicked, and whether copying a referral code succeeded. Our custom referral events include the offer identifier; they do not include the copied code or your feedback message.
  • Feedback you submit. The feedback form asks for your email address and message. If you arrive through an offer’s report link, it also includes that offer’s identifier. We use these details to respond, investigate problems, and correct offer information. Please avoid sending account passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information.
  • Technical and diagnostic information. Serving the website and investigating errors can involve request information such as IP addresses, page URLs, browser details, timestamps, and error reports. Our hosting and service providers process technical information when your browser connects to them.
  • Browser preferences. The site remembers your light or dark theme in your browser’s local storage. When you press a copy button, the site writes that referral code to your clipboard; it does not read the clipboard’s existing contents.

We use this information to operate the site, understand which pages are useful, improve reliability, and handle feedback. A referral click or code copy does not tell us whether you opened an account or earned a reward. A provider may separately report qualifying referrals or rewards to us under its referral program.

Services used by the website

Google Analytics helps us understand visits and referral activity. It can use cookies, including cookies with names beginning _ga, and related identifiers to measure visits and sessions. Our public site loads Google Analytics when you open a page. Read how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Cloudflare Web Analytics helps us measure visits and page performance. Its browser beacon sends usage and performance information to Cloudflare. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Formspree processes submissions from our feedback form. Your email address, message, offer identifier when present, and technical information associated with the submission are handled through that service. Feedback may also be delivered to the inbox used to respond. See Formspree’s privacy policy.

Sentry helps us investigate website errors. Diagnostic reports can include error details, page URLs, browser information, and the context of an error. See Sentry’s privacy policy.

Google Fonts supplies a font used by the site. Your browser makes requests to Google to retrieve its stylesheet and font files. See Google’s Privacy Policy.

These providers process information to deliver their services. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where providers operate. Their handling of information also depends on the relevant service agreements, settings, and privacy policies.

Cookies and your choices

You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings and remove stored website data, including the theme preference. Clearing cookies does not by itself stop new analytics requests or remove information already collected. Blocking browser storage may prevent your theme choice from being remembered.

Google provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on for supported browsers. Browser privacy tools can also limit requests to analytics services. These controls do not necessarily block every service listed above, including information sent when you choose to submit feedback.

Retention

How long information is kept depends on its purpose and the relevant service’s retention settings. Feedback may remain in Formspree and the responding inbox while needed to handle the request and related follow-up. Analytics and diagnostic records are subject to the retention settings of those services. Information may also need to be retained to investigate misuse or meet applicable legal obligations.

Contact us if you would like information about retention or want us to delete feedback you submitted. A request to delete a message does not necessarily identify analytics records associated with your browser.

Requests about your information

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may have the right to withdraw it.

Use the feedback form to make a request. Describe the information or interaction concerned and provide an email address we can use to respond. We may need enough information to verify that the request relates to you. Some requests may be subject to legal exceptions. Where applicable, you can also contact your local data protection authority.

Referral websites and policy updates

When you follow a referral link, the destination provider may receive referral attribution and collect information under its own policies. Review those policies before sharing information or opening an account there.

We may update this policy as the site or its services change. The update date at the top of this page identifies the current version. See our Terms of Use and referral disclosures for more about using ReferMe.
